Leaving Reykjavik

January 13, 2011 § 2 Comments

My sister and I had spent a couple of alternately surprising and picturesque days in Reykjavik before we made the move past Grindavik to the Blue Lagoon. Our bus trundled along the road as we watched the landscape morph from rolling lawns to mossy lava-like rock. It wasn’t until I saw chilly puddles lit blue with algae that I felt that not only was I in a completely foreign country, but maybe a different planet altogether.
