Daily Surveillance: Water Babies

January 19, 2011 § Leave a comment

It had been a long time since I had been ambushed by jelly-bean bright vessels of liquid ammunition and suffered through the irritating rush of chlorinated water in my ear canals. The water fights of my childhood used to be brutal. I was always on my Dad’s team because he was a lethal saboteur and worthy ally. We used to set up a production line, fill buckets full of water balloons, then he would turn the whole property’s water supply off, which sounds extreme when you’re versing a clique of kids under the age of twelve, but hey, we played to win.
